NOIR FEST films are not like other films.

They don’t inspire you to become a drug dealer, or stripper, or impoverished African. We carefully curate our films to leave you feeling empowered, celebrated and informed. We scour the earth to find the filmmakers of the future, and we bring their work to you.

Peau de Chagrin

Like you, we’re desperate to experience more of our heritages, but through content with a stunning aesthetic commensurate to the power and glory of our ancestors. We want Black love stories, sci-fi, comedies and documentary, but we want films that suck us in through their powerful cinematography and their bold, brave storytelling. We want to feel enlightened, centered, celebrated after each NOIR FEST film. And we want the same for you.

Creating new distribution channels

The reason it’s so difficult to find films like these is that the gatekeepers of Hollywood don’t see the value in them. By partnering with local institutions, we bypass the gatekeepers and brings the films straight to you. The film stills above are from White Colour Black, To Be Free and Peau de Chagrin which, along with digital art make up the Black Glory exhibit coming soon to a city near you.
